Multi Effect Evaporator (MEE) is an industrial system used to concentrate liquids, especially solutions with dissolved solids, by evaporating water using steam in multiple stages (effects) to maximize energy efficiency.

🔁 Working Principle of MEE:

1. Multiple Effects (Stages):

   • The system uses 2 or more evaporator vessels (effects).

   • Each effect operates at a lower pressure (and temperature) than the previous one.

2. Steam Economy:

   • Steam is fed into the first effect, where it heats and evaporates the liquid.

   • The vapor generated is then used as the heating medium for the next effect.

   • This process continues through all effects, making efficient use of steam energy.

3. Final Output:

   • The concentrated liquid is withdrawn from the last effect.

   • Condensate from each effect is collected separately.
