An Electromagnetic Hammer (also called a vibrating hammer or electromagnetic impulse hammer) is a device used to break or dislodge sticky, caked, or hardened materials from the inner surfaces of industrial equipment like hoppers, silos, ESP (Electrostatic Precipitator) hoppers, boilers, or duct walls — using electromagnetic force.
⚙️ Working Principle of Electromagnetic Hammer:Electromagnetic Coil:
An electric current is passed through a coil to generate a magnetic field.
Hammer Armature:
A metallic hammer or striker is placed inside or near the coil.
When energized, the magnetic field pulls the hammer toward a strike plate.
Impact Force:
The sudden release or movement of the hammer creates a mechanical impact or vibration.
This dislodges ash, dust, or other deposits from equipment walls or surfaces.
Pulse Control:
A controller or timer manages the frequency and duration of the hammering action.
Electrostatic Precipitators (ESPs) – to knock off collected dust/ash.
Boiler walls and tubes
Hopper and silo walls – to prevent clogging or bridging.
Dust collectors
Kilns and baghouses
